Rafe Kincaid controls everything in his elife... until he meets Julia.
Julia Gilliland has always been interested in the natural world around her. She particularly enjoys studying the fossils and formations in the magnificent cave near her father's house. The cave seems plenty safe--until the day a mysterious intruder steals the rope she uses to climb out.
Rafe Kincaid is a man used to being in control--of himself, his brothers, and his family's ranch. The last thing he expects is to find a woman trapped in the cavern on his land--or to be forced to kiss her!
Rafe is more intrigued by Julia than any woman he's ever known. But when their developing relationship threatens a reconciliation with his brothers, will Rafe have to choose between his family and this new love that could heal his troubled heart and secure his happiness? (quoted by Mary Connealy)
My thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. This story while mainly about Rafe and Julia introduced all 3 of the Kinkaid brothers. It also introduced Julia and her family.
I thought it was funny how Rafe and Julia met. Rafe had come to the cavern to say goodbye to it when he heard a woman scream. He quickly went inside to rescue the woman and she was so full of emotions that he kissed her to bring her back to reality. Seconds into the kiss, he stops wondering how old she really was and asks. Julia slaps him for any assumption that she might be old.
I thought the characters were well written and I often felt like I could be standing in the room with them. This book was very interesting and I highly recommend it. I was able to get a digital version of this book for free (always a help when reading a new author for the first time). As well as I am a fan of series books and this one was definitely one of those. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
