Day 1 was an introduction to each of the three: k, red and circle. They were simple worksheets I found on the internet. They are K (from dltk.teach.com), red: coloring page- red (I used only the first page w/ a minor change), and circle: color page- circle (both from abcteach.com).
Day 2 we worked on the letter K. We made a K into a king. I used the dltk-teach.com websites version and created a similar king with simpler eyes, nose, mouth and crown. She colored in the K and then I helped and cut out her K for us to decorate together.
Day 3 was really our color red day. Because I knew that we would be working on our ladybug, she wore her red shirt with a ladybug on the front. She calls them bugs, not knowing of all the different bugs there are yet. I had all our circles precut and a picture printed from online taped to the window in front of us. From there, she continued to glue the dots on where she thought they would look good. I thought she did a really good job. The extra red and orange dots were just extra circles that she really wanted to play with. Then when we were done with our ladybug, I pulled out a red: puzzle-color-red (from abcteach.com).
Day 4 was our day to work on circles. Also with precut circles we created a snowman. We finished him up by putting on the last button and gluing on three snowflakes around him. When we finished up with our snowman we began working on a size sort using circle: sorting- circles b&w (from abcteach.com)- trying to line them up from small to large and vice versa. I colored one set of the circles red and laminated them so that with more practice and more colors we could play again later. This didn't last more than 15 seconds when she decided she was done for the day.
Next week we will be continuing to play with the letter K, the color Red and the shape Circle. I have been working hard on some ideas I have seen from other people to create some really cute stuff for us to use.
