Stitch Fix #2- February 2014

Stitch Fix is a monthly styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences, and then your personal stylist sends you 5 items either once a month (or each time you schedule a fix). The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

Each Stitch Fix comes with a card showing you styling ideas for your items. There’s also a letter from your stylist explaining why they picked each item and they usually include some suggestions too!

Shirt2- BaltimoreChevron StripedKnit

My first piece I tried on was the Baltimore Chevron Striped Knit Top. First Impressions: I cheated and looked up the pieces being sent to me and saw a few people wearing this shirt. I liked the way it looked.
My thoughts? This shirt fit well and looked cute. I have been eying the stripes and chevron print recently and this was a perfect addition to my closet. Definitely a keeper.

Shirt2- MorganDenim ButtonUpTank

The next piece I had to decide on was the Morgan Denim Button Up Tank. First Impressions: Yuck, this doesn’t look anything like me. However, it is soft, I will try it on.
My thoughts? I really do dislike this shirt as much as I did in the bag. This washed out jeans look is horrible on me.  I have tried it with normal jeans and horrible there to. RETURNING!!!

Shirt2- NatashaPocket SleevelessBlouse.
My next change was into the Natasha Pocket Sleeveless Blouse.  First Impression: I also cheated and saw this shirt in my previewing of my pieces. I was super excited when I received this and saw that it wasn’t the dark maroon that most have posted.
My thoughts? Kind of cute. I wasn’t sure about the satin material. Cleaning would be more difficult and I have two kids, easy cleaning is a requirement on most of my clothes. Returning.

Shirt2- Turner AbstractPrint RaglanKnit

Next I put on the Turner Abstract Print Raglan Knit Shirt. First Impressions: This was the only piece I couldn’t find online beforehand.  Mediocre. It just didn’t look like something I would normally pick up.
My thoughts? I tried this on and wasn’t sure about how comfortable it felt. Returning.

Dress2- Bellflower Sleeveless StripedLaceA-Line

My last piece was the Bellflower Sleeveless Striped A-Line Dress. First Impressions: This is really cute (I only wish it was black instead of brown lines).
My thoughts? This dress was incredibly short on me.  I then tried on a pair of capri leggings (my favorite way to wear dresses with kids running under foot).  It still felt awkward. Returning.

Overall Thought? I didn’t think they did quite as well on my tastes this time. I had heard they can only get better but learned that my comments needed to be more specific. I still set up my next fix for right at a month away!!!
