Cookie Bookie

Today was our first experience with Cookie Bookie- I know wait until the end of the year to try something new, however better late than never.  Cookie Bookie is a Parents-As-Teachers playgroup that starts with some circle time getting a few of our wiggles out.  We then continue with a story, each child has a little paper cutout of an animal or object.  The object is held out when it is found in the story.  Then there are tables set around the room so that the children can do different crafts, ice a cookie, play with play dough, and play with baby toys (for the people who bring babies).  Then each child gets to bring a book home for there collections.

Today we had a giraffe as our puppet as we read the story Animal Strike at the Zoo, It’s True by Karma Wilson.

Animal Strike at the Zoo. It's True!

Our two crafts were a letter G giraffe with a tree and a cup giraffe.

We were able to bring home Animal Strike at the Zoo, It’s True by Karma Wilson and Groundhog Day by Betsy Lewin.
